pen and ink in two colors on acetate, ca.1962.  Several doodles of many of the characters that later appeared in the The Yum-Yum Book (published in 1974) as well as may other Crumb publications.  Includes faces of religious, political, entertainers and animals.  Crumb referred to this as a Hieronymous Bosch montage.  23 x 9"

Crumb created this work while he lived in Cleveland and worked at American Greetings under the supervision of Tom Wilson (creator of Ziggy).  Robert became friends with one of his fellow artists and gifted him the work.  Interestingly, our gallery is located in the old American Greetings building where the work was created.
