John Paul Miller (American 1918-2013)- Brooch / Pendant- 18k gold, in the shape of a spade. The upper section is composed of seven curved forged overlapping units which taper to thin rounded spatula forms at upper ends. These pieces have various small rectangles projecting from them and are interconnected by triangular pieces of gold. The lower section is a single vertical unit in the form of a slightly tapered rectangle encrusted with small chips of gold at upper ends. The surface of this section has a hammered surface. The piece hangs from a small tapered loup of gold on a black nylon cord with tapered 18k gold conical ends with a ring and hook clasp. 2 1/2'', 1 7/8''
