The wooden Schuck was replaced by a steel vessel of the same name and at that time was renamed C. C. Hand, after the superintendent of the Pennsylvania docks. Built in 1890, she was burned in 1913 At the time of this painting she was owned by J. C. Gilchrist in whose company Mr. Schuck was an investor.
